Search Engine Consultants Vs Social Media Marketing

Search Engine Marketing (SEM) promoting a website in Google, Yahoo and other search engines through various methods, such as marketing, organic search, paid placement and contextual advertising. When a product or service web site is searched, organic search marketing allows the site appear on the first page of search engine results for increased visibility. Paid internship allows website sponsored ads normally appear in or adjacent to the organic search results. Paid internship is also known as pay-per-click, because the advertiser will be charged when you click the link. Contextual text ads place on websites that have the same content item that the advertiser.

Social media allows interaction between two or more people who know directly or indirectly through the exchange of views and ideas on a topic of common interest. Social media marketing uses social networks, online communities, blogs, wikis or any other means of online collaboration for marketing, sales, public relations and customer service.

Search Engine Marketing

Customers or search for a product or service on a search engine when they are interested in it. Based on the search term you type into the search engines, a seller may know the intent of the client. This helps to identify relevant keywords. Search Engine Optimization is the process of getting a high ranking position in search engine results pages.

This is done by collecting data on what people are looking for, and what phrases or "keywords" entered its investigation. By including keywords that best reflect your business in your website, you can increase your chances of attracting your target market to your site. When a user searches for a product, service or information, search engines return the most relevant web pages for the search query in the top of search engine results (SERP). Usually, the relevance of the site for the search query down decreases as the latest results.

Therefore, the user focuses on the main pages that come in the results page of search engine. Website owners can promote their products or services by getting listed in the search results through optimization campaign search engine.? In social media, it is very easy to get a negative image. For example, a person who has had a bad experience with a product can express their views on a negative tone. This destroys any positive image of the brand or product that can spread a virus in no time.

The biggest drawback of social media marketing, social media is primarily used for communication and not for shopping or ads, which distracts the user experience. Therefore, influence the customer to buy cannot work in most cases in social media marketing. A study by "Citibank Small Business Segment GFK Roper reveals that small businesses choose search marketing through social media marketing. Over 76% of small business owners do not find social media to be useful for your business to generate leads and grow their businesses.

95% The Sessions

All Critics (143) | Top Critics (38) | Fresh (136) | Rotten (7)

A funny, tender and mostly unsentimentalized movie about physical and emotional triumph.

Forced to do all his acting with his face, Hawkes displays the kind of camera-arresting capability that has earned others Oscar nominations.

This is a crowd-pleaser of the finest sort.

Using only his tilted head, his eyes, nose, and mouth and that quizzical voice, Hawkes brings O'Brien to life.

It's funny and well-meaning, with great performances, but the story plays out more like an Afterschool Special with full-frontal nudity.

Raw, unrestrained and sympathetic without giving in to melodrama, 'The Sessions' is about a man facing a physical challenge who decides he wants to become intimate with a woman.

An intelligent, funny, insightful film that offers a frank examination of sex. It's not prurient or titillating, just truthful.

A remarkable actor, John Hawkes, gives a remarkable performance as a remarkable character.

Surprisingly funny and touching.

Presents the sensitive O'Brien as a brave, funny, unselfish and unlikely romantic-fantasy dream hero for disappointed, weary or jaded older female moviegoers.

The uplifting struggle for living a life of dignity for paralyzed from the neck down polio victim Mark O'Brien.

The sex scenes are frank and explicit, but never cheap and exploitative. (Yes, they get naked. Grow up.) The nudity isn't airbrushed pin-up perfection, but raw and real - and all the more lovely and moving because of it.

Taking the good with the bad, this isn't a terrible movie, though it is being rather overhyped. I found myself laughing a lot and enjoying the transformations the actors go through, but an unengaging story only serves to drag it down.

A film, inspired by the life of the late poet-journalist Mark O'Brien, that celebrates the relationship between physical and emotional intimacy.

Not just another weepy drama of overcoming odds, a My Left Foot with a different appendage. The Sessions is often brazenly funny, not from shocking dialogue but characters reacting the way people do, especially with such a flustering subject as sex.

an unusually frank and frequently humorous meditation on the transformative power of connection

Take away the nudity and the frank sex talk and you'd pretty much be left with a high-minded TV movie -- with unusually good actors.

Hunt's tangible disregard for false modesty does justice to the misunderstood surrogacy profession, while Hawkes' committed yet matter-of-fact portrayal of O'Brien masterfully avoids theatricality or sappy heartstring tugging.

Lewin has never had talent like Hawkes, Hunt, and Macy as his instruments before, and he makes the best of them.

Popular sex therapist Dr. Ruth once said that sexual surrogates are "illegal." The Sessions makes them mainstream.

An adult film that approaches the serious subject of sex with refreshingly explicit honesty.

The honest performances and assured direction makes The Sessions an extremely accomplished film that celebrates sexuality.

John Hawkes and Helen Hunt generate an endearing chemistry, here, turning in a couple of virtuoso performances deserving of serious consideration come Oscar season.

Writer-director Ben Lewin has made the decision to position the film somewhere between the comedic and dramatic genres.... and it works.

Australian veteran writer/director Ben Lewin (The Dunera Boys) delivers a heartfelt gem that is as moving as it is unassuming. It easily chimes in as one of the films of the year.

United found not liable for alleged 9/11 security lapse

NEW YORK (Reuters) - United Airlines bears no responsibility for the collapse of a third World Trade Center building on September 11, 2001, stemming from suspected airport security lapses that allowed hijackers to crash an American Airlines plane into the complex, a federal judge ruled on Wednesday.

U.S. District Judge Alvin Hellerstein granted a request by United and its parent, United Continental Holdings Inc, to dismiss negligence claims by Larry Silverstein, the leaseholder of the World Trade Center property, over the destruction of 7 World Trade Center.

Tower 7 collapsed several hours after being pierced by debris from the crash of AMR Corp's American Airlines Flight 11 into the nearby 1 World Trade Center, one of the Twin Towers.

Two of the Flight 11 hijackers, Mohammed Atta and Abdul Aziz al Omari, had begun their trip to New York at the Portland International Jetport, in Maine. There, they boarded a flight by US Airways carrier Colgan Air to Boston's Logan International Airport, from which they connected onto the American Airlines plane.

Silverstein said that because United was among the carriers that ran Portland's only security checkpoint, it was legally responsible for the screening of all passengers and had missed a "clear chance" to prevent the hijacking.

Hellerstein, a judge in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, in Manhattan, concluded that United did not owe "a duty of care" to Silverstein. He said that United, which is currently the largest U.S. carrier, could not have foreseen events that led to the destruction of Tower 7.

"It was not within United's range of apprehension that terrorists would slip through the security screening checkpoint, fly to Logan, proceed through another air carrier's security screening and board that air carrier's flight, hijack the flight and crash it into 1 World Trade Center, let alone that 1 World Trade Center would therefore collapse and cause Tower 7 to collapse," Hellerstein wrote.

In 2009, Hellerstein had dismissed claims against other airlines for damages caused by United Flight 175, which also crashed into the Twin Towers. Hellerstein has presided over almost all U.S. litigation over the September 11 attacks.

SILVERSTEIN TO PURSUE SEPARATE CASE

Bud Perrone, a spokesman for Silverstein Properties, said the firm was disappointed with Wednesday's ruling, but said it continues to pursue a similar negligence case over United's Flight 175.

"We are determined and look forward to presenting the facts before a jury, which will decide whether the defendants' insurance companies should finally be forced to pay up in order to finish the rebuilding of the World Trade Center," he said.

A United spokeswoman, Mary Ryan, declined to comment.

The September 11 attacks killed more than 3,000 people in New York, at the Pentagon outside Washington, D.C., and in Pennsylvania.

Silverstein is building three office towers at the 16-acre World Trade Center site, which is owned by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, though redevelopment has been hobbled by political battles and cost overruns.

The total project cost was recently estimated at $14.8 billion. Silverstein completed a $700 million, 52-story building at the 7 World Trade Center site in 2006, and it is now fully leased.

Silverstein has also sought to hold AMR, which now operates in bankruptcy, liable for the loss of property and business.

His $8.4 billion lawsuit filed in 2008 also named Boeing Co, the Massachusetts Port Authority, which manages Logan Airport, and security companies as defendants.

Hellerstein has limited potential recovery to the $2.8 billion that Silverstein paid for his leases.

The September 11 attacks prompted the creation of the U.S. Transportation Security Administration, which now oversees security at airport checkpoints.

The case is World Trade Center Properties LLC et al v. American Airlines Inc et al, U.S. District Court, Southern District of New York, No. 08-03722.

Easy2Map: Winners Of South African Software Competition Share ...

We chat to the winners of the Startup Knight Competition, Kishan Kalan and Steven Ellis ? the founders of Easy2Map. The competition was run by Byte Orbit and Ching Payments which offered the winners software development to the value of R100 000 and ongoing mentorship. Find out what they would advise for products entering the competition next year, as well as their plans to scale Easy2Map.Easy2Map - winners of startup knight competition

Congratulations on your win! Explain your product to us, Easy2Map.

Easy2Map is a code-free solution for creating fully customizable online maps, to embed on any website or blog.

Can you unpack the systems used that make it possible for people to create maps without coding?

Easy2Map offers a user-friendly interface for creating feature-rich and great-looking online maps without writing a single line of code. It is a web-based product, developed on open-source software, consisting of an easy-to-follow wizard, with drag-and-drop functionality, which allows users to choose from a number of pre-defined templates, and then to customize all elements of their map ? such as the look and feel and the fields associated with map-pins.

Once the user has created their map, they can easily add pins to the map, and embed it on their website, blog or anywhere online.

What kind of exposure has Easy2Map had in the South African market?

After a year of product development, we?ve created a map making tool which is available to a global market. We?ve been lucky enough to work closely with our local customer base, of around 300 free users, during our beta phase to test our assumptions especially when it comes to product features and usability. Easy2Map is now ready to tackle local high growth markets, with one of our main market segments being web development agencies, who are able to save time and effort by creating maps for their clients? needs, using Easy2Map.

On top of this, we have provided custom solutions to a few companies who needed maps for their websites. These include medical rooms, photographers shoot locations, a few restaurant franchises, and our favourite ? surfing spots in and around Cape Town.

What are you hoping to achieve or expand on since winning the competition?

Byte Orbit has sponsored an amazing prize of R100 000 in product development and sponsorship, as well as their experience and mentorship.

This is something we are really grateful for, and want to use wisely, along with the opportunity to improve and add features to Easy2Map using Byte Orbit?s wealth of experience in bespoke product development process.

At this point, in terms of product development and direction, unfortunately we can?t give too many secrets away, but we have some amazing mapping features we?re wanting to give Easy2Map users.?But in general, we?re working on reaching our target markets by getting a lot more people using Easy2Map while really enjoying their map making experience.

Is there a difference in the way individuals will use Easy2Map in comparison to businesses?

Yes, certainly. We have a freemium model, which means individual users can create and embed maps onto their websites or blogs for free, but with limited features. Easy2Map will even host the maps for these users, for free.

Our Premium packages cater for users who need advanced mapping features, such as full customisation of their maps, including multiple pins, and is best suited for businesses, typically with multiple franchises who rely on their customer base to locate their stores online.

As a South African startup, why have you chosen a pricing option in US Dollars?

To be honest, when we looked at the state of maps on websites, we were just as unsatisfied with what the rest of the world?s store locator maps looked like, when compared to South Africa?s online maps.

All over the world, we really struggled to locate stores through businesses websites with ease and simplicity.
We also found that many of these franchise stores across the world adopted the same model of outsourcing all their website requirements to a web development agency, and often with a very limited budget.?South Africa does have a big enough market for us to focus on, but we?re wanting to scale Easy2Map easily, and grow quickly.

After all, the internet is something which is becoming accessible throughout the world, and we?ve hardly had to adapt our map making tool to open it to the rest of the world.

What advice would you give to other startups that want to enter the Startup Knight competition next year?

Focus on your product?s unique value proposition. Ask questions like ?How does your product or solution add value compared to other competitive products in the area where you hope to compete??

Also make sure your revenue model is sound. Any good idea needs to generate revenue at some point, otherwise it is not really possible to build a business out of it.

Design is also becoming a very important feature of products, especially web-based ones. First impressions count, so a great-looking product offering will definitely put your product on a good competitive footing.

Lastly, have your pitch and presentation well prepared. You only have 8 minutes to win over the judges, so make them count.

Many thanks for enlightening us on a well deserved, winning product. Find out more about the code-free maps here.

(AP) ? Syrian rebels have taken over a large military base in the country's north, carting off tanks, armored vehicles and truck-loads of munitions their leaders say will give them a boost in their fight to topple President Bashar Assad.

The fall of the base of the Syrian army's 46th Regiment is a significant step in the rebels' expanding of control in the provinces of Idlib and Aleppo, along Syria's northern border with Turkey.

Gen. Ahmad al-Faj of the rebels Joint Command, one grouping of rebel brigades, said rebels attacked the base on Saturday and seized full control on Sunday after defeating or capturing all the government soldiers inside.

Reporters from The Associated Press who visited the base some 25 kilometers (15 miles) west of Aleppo late Monday saw no trace of government forces other than the dead bodies of seven soldiers. Rebels calmly roamed the base, searching its buildings for booty.

Earlier Monday, AP reporters saw scores of rebels unloading trucks full of rockets, mortars, artillery shells and rifles taken from the base into a rebel headquarters near the Turkish border.

Al-Faj said the battle was one of the greatest munitions coups for the rebels since the start of the uprising against Assad in March 2011. The conflict has since morphed into a civil war, with scores of rebel groups across the country fighting Assad's troops.

"We'll give this booty to our fighters who are trying to topple the regime," he said. "There has never been a battle before with this much booty."

Al-Faj said that seven rebels were killed in the battle. He didn't know how many government soldiers were in the base when the battle started, or how many were killed. But he said the rebels had taken about 50 prisoners, all of whom would be put on trial by a rebel court.

Anti-regime activists say nearly 40,000 people have been killed since Syria's crisis started 20 months ago.

The Syrian government says the rebels are terrorists backed by foreign powers that seek to destroy the country.

Elmo puppeteer quits 'Sesame' after new claims

By Gael Fashingbauer Cooper, TODAY

Kevin Clash, the voice actor and puppeteer who made furry red Muppet Elmo famous, has resigned from "Sesame Street," Sesame Workshop said in a statement. The announcement came Tuesday, the same day that a second man alleged Clash had a sexual relationship with him when he was underage.

"Sesame Workshop?s mission is to harness the educational power of media to help all children the world over reach their highest potential," the statement read. "Kevin Clash has helped us achieve that mission for 28 years, and none of us, especially Kevin, want anything to divert our attention from our focus on serving as a leading educational organization.

"Unfortunately, the controversy surrounding Kevin?s personal life has become a distraction that none of us want, and he has concluded that he can no longer be effective in his job and has resigned from 'Sesame Street.' This is a sad day for 'Sesame Street.'"

In the new lawsuit, filed Tuesday in New York, Cecil Singleton says he met Clash, then 32, in a gay chat room in 1993, when Singleton was 15, and they began a relationship.

Another man made similar charges earlier this month, and later recanted, saying he was of age when the relationship began. On Nov. 12, Clash, 52, took a leave of absence from the show following allegations of the first relationship.

That first man, now 24 and a college student, reached out to Sesame Workshop in June and said he was just 16 when he had a relationship with Clash. The company said in a statement that it investigated the relationship and found the charges that the man was underage to be "unsubstantiated," but that Clash was disciplined for using poor judgment and violating company Internet usage policy.

On Nov. 13, a Pennsylvania law firm representing the first man issued a statement saying their client had recanted his claim that the relationship began when he was underage, calling it an "adult consensual relationship" and saying the man would have no further comment.

"I am a gay man. I have never been ashamed of this or tried to hide it, but felt it was a personal and private matter," Clash said last week in a statement to NBC News issued through a representative. "I had a relationship with the accuser. It was between two consenting adults and I am deeply saddened that he is trying to characterize it as something other than what it was. I am taking a break from Sesame Workshop to deal with this false and defamatory allegation."

Clash has performed with Sesame Street characters since 1979, when he played Cookie Monster in the "Macy's?Thanksgiving Day?Parade." He became an official puppeteer on "Sesame Street" in 1984 and created character voices for puppets such as Baby Natasha and Dr. Nobel Price, but the marriage of Elmo and Clash's stylized high-pitched toddler voice caught fire once he began voicing the puppet in 1985. (Elmo had been a recurring puppet on the show since the early 1970s, but not a major player until Clash took over.)

Clash was the subject of?a 2011 documentary, "Being Elmo,"?which documented his lifelong love of puppeteering.

"Elmo is bigger than any one person and will continue to be an integral part of 'Sesame Street' to engage, educate and inspire children around the world," said Sesame Workshop when Clash took his earlier leave.
