Job Description:
Under the direct supervision of the Director of Office Administration (or the Supervisor of Paralegal Services in WDC) and the indirect supervision of attorneys with whom they work, the Paralegal applies knowledge of law and legal procedures in direct assistance to lawyers.
In this capacity, the Paralegal will:
? Under the supervision of an attorney, coordinate, obtain and distribute due diligence documentation; Build and maintain relevant databases and files; Provide copies to relevant parties;
? Coordinate the posting of said diligence documentation on NetDocuments website;
? Perform factual research in internal and external databases and libraries;
? Meet expected annual billable hours target of 1,725 (unless otherwise specified); Enter time entries and expenses in the Firm?s time-keeping and expense-tracking software on a daily basis;
? Work beyond scheduled hours as required; Travel as required for trial; and
? Handle additional projects as assigned.
In addition, the Paralegal will be expected to have:
? Fundamental to Advanced-level proficiency in the preparation of closing checklists and due diligence documentation;
? Fundamental to Advanced-level proficiency in MS Word and related document editing and comparison applications;
? Fundamental to Advanced-level proficiency in MS Excel and MS PowerPoint;
? Fundamental to Advanced-level proficiency with Lexis Nexis/Westlaw.
? Fundamental to Advanced knowledge of Firm and practice-area-specific procedures and terminology;
? Fundamental to Advanced knowledge of jurisdictional/ court/agency processes and procedures;
? Fundamental to Advanced knowledge of timekeeping and expense reporting applications; Fundamental to Advanced knowledge of legal billing processes;
Education and Experience
Any combination equivalent to:
? At least 4 years of Paralegal experience;
? ABA-approved Paralegal Certificate (preferred); Bachelor?s Degree (preferred);
